Where Love Lives: Our New House

After living in crappy little apartments for the last six years we finally were able to build our own house. We moved in February 2nd, one day after our sixth anniversary. We love having our own home! It was fun to pick out the tile, carpet, paint, counter tops, etc... Once we moved in we had a good time picking out furniture. Now that we've been in for a few months I've been trying to decorate- not my forte. Any of you creative people out there who have ideas for me, feel free to share. I'm especially having a hard time with the living room which has a vaulted ceiling. As you can see from the picture we still have a lot of landscaping to do, but we were pretty happy with how the rock wall in the front turned out.

This is a picture of the kitchen. We have knotty alder cabinets and granite counter tops.
This is a picture of the other end of the kitchen. The floors in the kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms are a travertine tile.
The Living Room (look at those bare walls- help!):

The Office:
This is the view from our front porch. We are right across the street from the golf course, so it's a pretty sweet view.

I love that you now have a blog. The baby looks so sweet, and I'm so happy for you! You are going to be an amazing mom. Here is my two cents for your walls. Look online at pottery barn walls. You don't have to buy from them, but they have great creative ideas about shelves, paintings, pictures, etc. I also saw a great idea where someone several (like 20 to 30) frames of various sizes and and styles with a lot of different mats and put pictures of family, places, etc. in the frames and created a sort of collage. I loved the idea. Nate Burkus (the guy that decorates on Oprah all the time) also has great ideas that are cheap as well. And you know Jamie and Dawn always have great ideas!
