Deacon's 3rd Birthday

How is it possible that my baby is now a three-year-old boy?! He was so excited for his birthday. He talked about it for weeks. He even picked out what he wanted for his cake (Buzz) and then changed his mind to Woody. I panicked a bit because I already had the stuff for the Buzz cake. Luckily he was happy with it anyways! His favorite parts were "blowing off" the candles and licking off the frosting.

Deacon had lots of family over and recieved some great gifts. His favorite had to be the light saber. He is obssessed with Darth Vader!

Some of the gang watching him open his presents- Scott, Gatlin, Shawn, Carly, Grandpa, and Logan:

He has been asking for a fishing pole since Christmas. He was pretty excited to get this Spider Man pole and can't wait for Dad to take him out fishing! Happy Birthday Deacon! We love you!

Easter 2011

Deacon had a blast at the city's Easter egg hunt. He had a hard time waiting for the buzzer and I had to drag him off the field once! It was fun to see him and his cousins open up their eggs to look at their prizes. On Easter morning Deacon woke up to a trail of Easter eggs leading to his Easter basket. The first thing he said when he woke up was: "I have candy!" It was fun watching his excitement over his new pop gun and all the candy! We had a wonderful Easter Sabbath. Sacrament meeting was wonderful. The choir did most of the program and music always speaks to my soul. After church we had a family dinner at my parent's house. I love that our families live so close and we can spend time together. We are so very blessed.

Spring Break 2011

We spent our Spring Break in California this year. My parents and Gatlin joined us for our fun filled week. Our first stop was to Disneyland and we had a blast taking Deacon on rides. He loved seeing Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie. His favorite ride was of course the Toy Story ride where he got to shoot at Zurg.

Our next big stop was the Angel's Stadium where we all experienced our first Major League ball game together. Deacon was surprisingly good. I was afraid he would want to get down and run around, but I think we wore him out at Disneyland the day before.

No trip to California would be complete without a trip to the beach. We spent time at both Huntington Beach and Santa Monica. Deacon loved picking up shells and sticking his toes in the water. It was a little too cool to go swimming, but that didn't stop Scott and Gatlin.

One of our final stops was the Grauman's Chinese Theater to see the walk of fame and get our pictures taken with some of the crazies!

We loved spending time with Great Grandpa Neilson, Aunt Teresa, and Uncle Joe. Deacon loved jamming out on Uncle Joe's drums. It was so nice to just get away, make memories, and spend time together.
