100 Things I'm Thankful For:

Last Sunday a talk in church inspired me to offer only prayers of gratitude for a week. It was a great experience and helped me to see how truly blessed I am. It also made me realize how often I ask for blessings! It has really become an automatic thing for me and I'm afraid it has made my prayers repetitive and redundant. Just giving thanks in my prayers wasn't always easy. There were a few times when I had need of legitimate blessings. Scott was sick and instead of asking for a blessing of health I thanked Heavenly Father for our marriage and for the health we have enjoyed. When I wanted to ask for strength for a friend who is going through a separation and possible divorce I instead offered thanks for our friendship and the strength He has given her in the past. I thanked Him for the Holy Ghost who gives us comfort in times of trial. I wanted to pray for a friend who had a tough decision to make so I thanked Heavenly Father for this dear friend and the example she has been to me. I thanked Him for the inspiration he gives us when we have righteous desires. This simple thing of offering thanks helped me to have more meaningful prayers as well as see more clearly all I have to be thankful for. Without further ado here are the 100 things I am most thankful for in no particular order:

Katie's Wedding

We had a wonderful weekend! Scott's little sis "Katie Bug" was married in the Salt Lake temple to Travis Warner. Katie is Scott's fourth of six sisters and is a wonderful little sister. We enjoyed having her live with us for awhile last year and hopefully she wasn't traumatized too badly by Scott's teasing and my moodiness (I was pregnant at the time). Katie is a special girl and an amazing example to everyone she comes in contact with. We are so happy for the darling couple and excited for them to begin their life together. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed being with family that we don't see often enough. It was a special ceremony and the Sealer gave them some wonderful advice. It was a nice reminder to Scott and I of what we should be working on together. There is no better place to be then the temple with loved ones- those present and those who have passed on to the otherside. It was a beautiful day that we will always remember.
