Motor Mouth

Deacon is getting quite the personality. He cracks us up all the time! Here are a few of his latest antics:

He is quite the little rocker. He loves listening to music with dad and now he goes around singing "Cat Scratch Finger" (Cat Scratch Fever by Ted Nugent) and "I am a Rock" (I Wanna Rock by Twisted Sister). He asks for Van Halen by name and knows most of the words to The Beach Boys "Barbara Ann".  He also loves "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Wooly Bully" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. I had to call Scott at work the other day because Deacon wanted me to play "Bully, Bully" and I had no clue what he wanted. Luckily Scott deciphered it and a tantrum was avoided, once I found the song on YouTube. He is not all rock and roll however, he also loves to sing The Hokey Pokey, I am a Child of God, and Book of Mormon Stories.

I recorded Toy Story 1 and 2 off of the TV and he watches them over and over. He has to do all of the actions. Especially "flying". He jumps off of everything and yells, "To infinity and beyond!", at the top of his lungs. He also picked up on some commercials from the show unfortunately. Now whenever he sees Skittles at the grocery store he tells me, "I need to taste the rainbow."

He is fascinated with guns (Thank you, Scott). I gave in and bought him a cheapo one at the Dollar Store. It lasted a whole month before it broke, which is pretty long considering he took it everywhere with him and had to sleep with it too. After it broke, he asked me if I would put a bandaid on it. Ha, ha!

He loves pointing out pictures of Jesus. He is usually right, but after seeing a picture of angel Moroni on the temple he said, "That's Jesus. He's going to jump." I'm sure in his little mind he would be yelling,"To infinity and beyond!"

He surprises us everyday with his new vocabulary. It seems like every other day he has a new catch phrase-"No way Jose", "Oh Come on!", "Give me that!", "Okey Dokey", "Let's go get icecream", "I want to go fishing", "You're a girl and I'm a boy","I think there's a wolf down stairs", and "You're so silly". Today he told me his "uncles" hurt. What? Then he showed me his hand... Oh, your knuckles! "Ya mom, my uncles!"

He loves babies. Whenever he sees one he says in a little high pitched voice, "Oh, it's a baby. He's so cute." He loves playing with friends and cousins. He is getting slightly better at sharing his toys as long as it isn't his tractor or his gun. We don't know what we would do without him. He is lots of fun and keeps us all on our toes!
