School is out, summer is here, and a new chapter in our life begins. You may recall back in October that Scott joined the National Guard. I have been a bit apprehensive about it, but have still tried to be supportive because I know this is something he has always wanted to do. June seemed a long way off back in October, but it snuck up on us rather quickly! Deacon and I dropped off Daddy in Salt Lake on Memorial Day, so he could begin his basic training. He will be at Fort Benning, Georgia completing not only Basic Training, but Officer Candidate School as well. He will be there until sometime in November. We are hoping to fly out to see him after he finishes Basic Training in August. Until then we are hoping to stay busy so that the time goes quickly!

We had a get-to-together with family and friends at the park the day before he left. We appreciate everyone who came and supported us. We have been blessed with many loved ones who we know we can count on to get us through.

There were many others there that I just didn't get pictures of, but that we love and appreciate just as much. I am so proud of Scott and the love that he has for our country. He wants to serve and build up our Nation and I know he will be a dependable and honorable leader. We love you Scott!
