Deacon is 18 months!

It's the time I've been unpatiently waiting for... Deacon in now eligible for nursery at church. No more chasing him around the halls or trying to confine him to the mother's room. He is now free to play, run around, sing songs, and eat snacks. I am now free to sit with the adults. Nursery is a beautiful thing. Deacon is getting bigger and bigger everyday. He is turning into quite the character and is starting to figure out what he likes and doesn't like. He is not a bit shy to tell you either. He has yes and no down pat! Example:
Mom: Is it time for bed?
Deacon: NO!
Mom: Do you want a cookie?
Deacon: Yes! Mmmmm.
Dad: It's time to go inside.
Deacon: NO dad!

Some of his favorite things are:
bottles (this will cause a challenge for us in the not so distant future),

ice (otter pops), grandma and grandpa's house, playing outside, dancing to music, taking baths, yogurt, apples and applesauce, candy (he has a serious sweet tooth like his mom), being silly,
pushing around his dump truck or tractor, the vacuum, animals (especially grandpa's horses and chickens) laughing, books and being read to, trying on other people's shoes,
coloring, pulling things out of drawers and cupboards, his bear (and pretending to feed bear),
and shaking his finger at you and saying "No, no, no" when he doesn't like what you are doing.
Some of his dislikes are: bedtime, getting his face wiped, being told no, bugs (it's a love hate relationship- he loves to find them and bring them to us pinched in his little fingers and say, "Ew yuck"), diaper changes, vegetables (unless they're cleverly disguised), being laughed at when he is mad, socks, having anyone else brush his teeth (he likes to do it himself), and getting his hair combed (unless he is the one doing it- and the preferred method is dipping the brush in the toilet and then brushing the hair- Yeah, we put the kibosh on that one).
He is so much fun! He gives the best kisses and hugs ever, and we don't know what we would do without him. We love you Deacon!

I am counting down the days until Charlotte gets to be in nursery! Sometimes I wonder why we even bother going to church. You'll have to let me know how the bottle banning goes (Charlotte loves her bottles too:)
