Deacon is 16-months old now and thinks he is pretty big stuff! He is already Mr. Independent and likes to do everything by himself. This includes combing his hair, brushing his teeth, feeding himself, and when mom's not looking taking off his own diaper! He can somehow take it off without even taking off his shorts! He is learning new words everyday and some of them we can even decipher! Some of the words he has said so far are: mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, yes, no, water, juice, don't, light, cat, dog, Garrett, mint, hi, bye, Jesus, that, this, here, yuck, ice, hot, and eat. It's so fun when he uses them in context and even starts saying them in phrases. The other day I heard him going around the house saying "don't touch" to all of the electrical outlets. When he was outside playing with Scott the other day and was told it was time to go in he turned to Scott and said, "No Dad!". He is quite the character! He gives kisses now and even does the "Mwah" sound effect with it. He loves helping dad outside on our new lawn and playing in the water and getting wet.

We discovered a stray cat in our window well with four little kittens! We had to carefully supervise because Deacon enjoyed them a little too much... he can be a little overly affectionate at times!

He had a great time finger painting on his tray the other day. I mixed flour, water, and food coloring together and he had a great time creating his work of art.

Deacon keeps us super busy and we feel like time is just flying by! It is so fun to watch him grow and develop his own sweet little personality!

What a Cutie! Are you keeping one of the kittens?
Cute kiddo! He's getting so big. You are a fun mom to let him finger paint. Looks like he'll be an artist(:
